Solenoid Valve Manifold - Through Hole Mount

10/23/2008 3:13 PM

I know I've seen what I am looking for, but apparently I am not asking for the right item when I Google, because I can't find a manufacturer.

What I need is a modular type solenoid bank with 8 or 12 or 16 three way valves for controlling small air to open diaphragm valves. The manifold is a modular unit similar to the Festo CPV series, or Numatics 2002 series, where the valves and electronics are scewed together into a compact unit. What makes this item different from the Numatics 2002, is the 16 outputs (push to connect fittings) are on a face plate that is NEMA 4 rated and is mounted outside the control panel. The valve bodies and inlet/outlet air for the manifold and all electrical connections are inside the control box. (i.e. the manifold mounts just like a panel meter through a rectangular hole in the control panel box with a gasket) This saves considerable space in the panel box as there aren't 16 airlines running to 16 bulkhead fittings all jammed into the panel box.

Hi, I believe what you're asking is for a bulkhead fitting assembly that accomodates your manifold???????????

No - I am trying to eliminate the bulkhead concept. The unit I am talking about, I actually saw right here in my office, but I did not save the vendors literature. The unit is very similar to the Numatics 2002, except the end of the valves, where the outlets are, is formed so that they can be exposed to the exterior conditions outside the enclosure and the body of the valves, as well as the manifold inlet and exhaust are housed inside. The standard 2002 is meant to be mounted entirely inside an enclosure and connections to the real world must occur with seperately purchased bulkhead connectors.

New update - I have received additional info from the end customer who says it is Festo that makes this unit - thanks for your help anyhow.

Okay - you all can stop searching for this one - I solved it myself with Festo's aid.

Festo's type 10 CPV manifolds have an option not in their online configurator. It is called a flange type P mount. This places the valve outlets (in my case I will use a quick connect for 1/4" OD plastic airline) in a rectangular flange that mounts outside a panel box, whilst the valve bodies are inside. Four screws secure this entire assembly (valve/flange) to the panel box. No airline from the valves to bulkhead fittings, as the connectors are already on the exterior.
