Design and installation of Grounding Ring

Hello All,

I need a guidance on design and installation of Grounding Ring (Earthing System) particularly on how to specify The Copper cable gauge, Earth Rod type, Earth Rod diameter/Length, Distance between earth rods, Minimum number of eath rods and Bonding type. I want to achieve a final earth reading of less than 5ohms. Iam in an area having a minimum of 20ohms earth resistivity. Thanks

You can use IEEE's green book for reference in grounding (earthing) systems.

please ref the IEEE guide for Safety in AC substation grounding (IEEE Std 80 -2000)from The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc NY USA is best guide for designing the site specific requirement of earth mat design.
