Any indications so far as to which language the chicks might speak?

I have a very hard time understanding why the powers that be don't correct these kind of embarassing international issues. I don't suppose the ink used in lettering the egg containers could possibly have any lead in it.

I thought it was just milk and associated products, but a quick check reveals more about eggs.

Most sources seem to blame deliberate contamination, or outright faking of milk, and similar practice with poultry feed. Here's an interesting snippet ;

"A burning issue is that, while the NZ government raised this issue as early as March this year, no action was taken by the Chinese government. One of the reasons quoted by some newspapers was that the Chinese government had issued a 21-point plan to all journalists covering the Olympics to avoid taboo subjects, including food safety issues (point 8). A sort of news censorship to put the Beijing Olympics in a spotless stage. "

That's pretty shocking (if true) - especially since it would make journalists complicit. Before anyone feels safe in the West, contaminated products (sweets) have been found over here.

'China-bashing', over unsafe products, seems to be a popular pass-time in the West. They'll have a field day with this one, although they never seem to manage it as loudly over the issue of child labour etc. I wonder how UK shops like Tesco manage to sell t-shirts for £1 ?

It's all just another down-side of having a global economy. 'Out of sight, out of mind'. Having stirred the pot, I shall now run..................

"... Who's up for a "Lawyers to China" program?"

Trouble is they'd export them back.

The health of a country is inversely proportional to the number of lawyers.
