Pressure Moitoring

11/04/2008 7:31 AM

Can anyone advise on a technique/instrumentation for measuring the differential pressure in this test rig I am setting up. Net forward flow of 10ml/min across a pipe test section i.d. 1.0 mm, length 120 mm. superimposed on this flow is an oscillatory flow (forward and backward) of 1 ml displacement at a frequency of 2 pulses per second. The fluid is engine oil the temperature is 350°C, the system pressure is ~ 500 psi.

Can this be done with standard differential pressure transducer, or better with individual pressure transducers, is the rapid oscillation a major problem??

Would a suitable positive displacement flowmeter be a better choice? There are plenty available for fuel oil.

Amazing temperature. Wow!

I don't know enough about positive diplacement flowmeters to know? can you elaborate please, I would be interested in any posibilities. The flow , both the constant, and oscillating is being generated by two positive displacement heads
