Coupling

11/05/2008 3:19 AM

One side of FNPT Coupling (2") is connected with threaded pipe ( 2" , A53 , Sch160 , Type F , FBW , Galv ) & other side with concentric swage ( 2" X ¾" , TBEM , A234-WPB , S160 , Galv ) . There are two options of 2" , FNPT , Galv , coupling in Piping Spec – One with A197,Cl 300 & other with A105,Cl 3000 . Service is cooling water supply / return , Threaded spec , Corrosion allowance is 0.125" , no insulation , Design Pr. & Temp. are 150 psig & 170 F. Pl. tell the correct option & tell whether selection from these two options depends on Design conditions also .

Thanks

You should find out who wrote this Spec and why he or she put in two options.
There is nobody out here who can answer that question.
