11/08/2008 6:56 PM

Did you ever know who makes or made any pump like this?I made every kind of calculations, fatigue included and when small flux is involved and so high pressure the toroidal metallic bellow should work.Isn't it?could avoid every plastics seals!!

I've seen some of those kind of pumps with diaphragms made of stainless steel for pumping chemicals with contaminants. They work fine with plane elements, not thoroids. To help reduce the stiffness, they are shaped like the waves in water surface when you drop a rock... if I made myself clear...

I have an application for such a pump. If you find one, please let me know. In the meantime, Metal Bellows Corp. in MA makes a similar one that uses a metal bellows. Not as elegant as yours, but it works well.

That looks like a very stiff shape to actuate, wouldn't a linear bellows work better?

This is a small displacement, the kind of just one unit you show.

How small? I have bellows down to about 2mm diameter x 4mm long.

Hi,

these pumps are typically used for metering fluids (water disinfection and other chemical dosing for example).

LEWA and PROMINENT are producers in Germany that deliver worldwide.

What you have sketched looks a lot like a metal version of a rolling diaphragm made by Bellofram Corp. Google them if you want more information.
