Test for Lead in Water?

Can anyone help me?

I am trying to test lead in water but i can't use sodium sulfide.

What can i use as a substitute?

Is the water you are testing "clean" (i.e., presumed potable), or some sort of process wastewater?

Where would lead in the water be from?

(A specific process, or low level leaching from plumbing system components?)

Any idea what concentration you are looking to test for? (parts per billion, parts per million, or percent?)

Are other metals anticipated to be present in the water? What ones?

How many tests will you need to perform?

Depending upon the answers to the above, a couple of reagents come to mind for performing a titration determination...
