Portugal, in conjunction with a Scottish firm is attempting to build the world's first commercial wave farm. If successful, the plant will have a base capacity of 2.25 megawatts, while displacing more than 6,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year. Cool stuff!

Tital power

I'm surprised that there aren't more power plants like this in the world. If I was a developing nation with access to the open ocean it would be my first choice for power.(Not that Portugal is a developing country). I do know that in rural Africa the power of choice is solar panels. That way they don't have to worry about installing and maintaining a power grid.
