Plastic Wear Test

Looking for a way to test abrasion on different plastics.ASTM G-65 might work.Any ideas on this?

I will give you some references: ASTM-C 1353, ASTM-F 510, ASTM-D 1044, ASTM-4060, ASTM F 1978

I have the following additional suggestions:

  • You can use Modulus, Hardness and Tear Strength Properties as a rule of thumb for screening candidate materials - Typically Polyurethanes have (one of the top two) the highest abrasion resistance
  • I also recommend to simulate your own tests - Blast Candidate plastic panels with plastic beads or sand - Control blast pressure, distance, bead size or sand size (typical other variables) --Inspect after 30 seconds of blasting and then check for damage
