Ternary Alloy Problems

10/17/2006 11:53 AM

I have problems with a zinc dross that has aluminum.

I need this dross to produce zinc oxide, and the aluminum goes to the top and it doesn't let the zinc vaporize.

What can I do to avoid this aluminum to go to the top of the molten zinc?

Can you tap off the melt at a lower point below the floating aluminum and let it oxidize in a secondary crucible?
