Optically Clear High-Temperature Adhesive for Spacecraft

12/02/2008 2:31 PM

In a search for adhesive to bond cover glass to spacecraft photovoltaics I found an old patent (U.S. 5290897) for an optically clear adhesive that has a 600 C operating temperature. The material is called a carborane siloxane.

Is there a company out there that is producing a similar adhesive these days??

Thanks in advance!!

Hi

ask Polytech, they have a bunch of this (expensive) stuff,

I used the conductive epoxies only but I saw on their list the many optical glues.

Have you tried Edmund Optics? I know they sell lens cement, but no idea if they have anything like what you need.

I didn't find what I need on their product page but it would be a good idea to give them a call. Thanks for the that!
