What sort of equipment is it in?

Is it in a digital or analog part of the circuit?

Could it be some sort of custom chip that may only have a manufacturers ID number?

Try IC Master... Click here: ICMaster - Search over 100 million electronic parts. I am not sure about the 1642hv, but the 9442 looks like a manufacturing date (42nd week of 1994). Bill

I went ahead and looked at IC Master, and got no hits. Thus 1624hv is probably the part number of the product manufacturer. If I am buying 100,000 ICs (I wish), I would get the IC manufacturer to label them with my part number rather than the generic part number. Thus you might need to go to the manufacturer of the product the part is in to get a generic cross reference. If it is a custom part like a gate array, the product manufacturer might be the ONLY place you can get the part.

Best of luck

Bill
