It is funny how American jobs have been given to you guys, but you ask US questions that have been answered LONG ago.....Go to the store and you will find that these things are already developed...dummy......... Hmmm, let's re-invent the wheel....

The MTL377 surge arrestor is largely unaffected by weather conditions as it is hermetically sealed. It will be the downstream instruments' enclosures that are sealed to less than IP68, having varying degrees of admission of moisture, that will be affected more. Of course, when things get too bad in the field, the fuse in the MTL377 will operate, disconnecting the field wiring from the protected equipment, at which point component-exchange maintenance will doubtless be required.
