Do you have a copy of Perry's Chemical Engineer's Handbook nearby? There is a table in chapter 10 I believe that lists out all different heat exchanger applications and over all U. Mine is about 30 miles away right now, otherwise I'd look it up.

Dear Friend,

You have referred "to find the heat transfer efficiency for the horizontal tube evaporator"

Generally the HEAT TRANSFER EFFICIENCY depends upon several factors, depending upon the heating medium.

For example. if EXHAUST STEAM is used as heating medium, the steam will condense and the droplets will stick to the bottom of the tube, till the surface tension force is not exceeded, and the heat transfer efficiency will be less. If hot air is used, this phenomenon will not be there.

Pl. be specific in your question.
