Troubleshooting an HP 3455a Digital Voltmeter

12/10/2008 6:22 PM

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has experience with the hp 3455A voltmeter, I have acquired and old one that powers up but does not display anything. Haven't found much technical info on them using the standard searches, any pointers would be much appreciated.

Ok, ok I'll come clean...I just had a chance to realy look at the meter and realized I don't know much about what this thing is used for let alone how to fix it, so anybody feeling wordy tonight please feel free to give me a description of the item and some applications for it's use and I will hang on every word.Thanks.

I have one too,

it was one of the marvels of precision measurements (6 digits) but now somewhat aged.

I had only one necessity to get it repaired - the electrolytic capacitors of the power supply had aged and failed.

I suppose I have a manual but I doubt that I have the repair manual.

Thanks guys,

I saw that one on ebay after I bought this one for $10 (while buying a used power supply) seems to have the same problem as mine so I don't know if it would be good for parts.

Any info from the manuals would be much appreciated! Thanks again.
