Hi, If what you have it's d/p cell level transmitter, it's possible that the low side of the transmitter is a "wet leg" this makes the lower range of the transmitter negative..Thank you

Boiler Drum level Tx. Have Range in Negative

In close vessels the mid point is zero, upper point is positive and bottom point is negative. If indication is zero its mean that value is 50%.If we use 0 to 50 range and system indicates that drum level is 0% ,its mean drum is empty. We avoid empty drum level. Also negative range tells us reference of water and steam in boiler.Thats why we use negative range in boiler.

Hello,

At my power plant which is 87bar and 525 Temp (85TPH IJT) the distence betn upper and lower tapping on steam drum is 610mm and the range in Tx is -610 to 0 mmwc i wanna know the reason for negative range(-610mmwc) how Tx generated negative mmwc as lower tapping on HP side of Tx and upper tapping on LP side of Tx.

Regards

Sushil

Hi there,

As stated above - it definately sounds as if you LP side of the transmitter is the wet leg.

Regards,

Craig
