How to Hang Bent Tubes

12/16/2008 12:19 PM

Can anyone reccomend a method for hanging bent tubes from a rack or pipe before shipping.

We have some bungee and Grip clips which we were going to grab tube with and secure bungee to gripper but I dont feel confident that the tubes will not release and fall.Tubes are thin wall delicate and have alodine finish.

Anyone have a proven way .If so where did you get material.

thanks

Steve

I tried that and it worked better then most. they did fall once in a while, but the trade off too tight and you can't undo them without super human strength.

Everything else we tried ended up shipping too much air. (took a lot of space to ship bent tubes.)

let us know how it works out.

Thanks,

We just want to hang them in shop safely before packing in crates. They do waste a lot of space.Aerospace tubes so droping is not an option.Replacement cost is extremly high.

Looking for softcoated aligator clips to clip on end of tube maybe.

I don't know how intricate your tubes are nor what is their size but if you want to be on the safe side, you might pass plastic coated steel wire through them and secure this loop to your rack.

Interesting thank you. Some are 10feet long few bends others 4-5 8-10 bends.1"0.D to 2.5 O.D. Sounds safest though i'll keep it in mind.Probably should ask the paint shop.Anybody a tube finisher?
