Mystery Medical Equipment - What Is It?

12/16/2008 3:55 PM

I listed this under General Discussion, but another member suggested I list it here.

I have been asked to sell an item for an estate, but I have no idea what to call it. Can anyone tell me what it would be called? It was made by Bioflex. It offers range of motion scales & adjustable resistance. Looks like you strap the forearm in and then curl & rotate the wrist/hand. Thanks for your help.

Looks like a device for physical therapy.

Is there any more information about Bioflex listed?

Thanks for your reply, yes, it is for physio therapy.

All the info on the label is Bioflex PTW-6.

Underneath is an address, 19227 144th Ave N.E. Woodinville, Wa.

That's all I have, now I need to know what it is called?

Try caling it a mobility indexer. The device is used to measure the degree of flex in the wrist and the spring loaded scale measures the muscle strenght of the fingers. How ellse can you measure the progress of mobility as the theraphy progresses.

'ergonometer'.. various versions such as for measurement of gripping power, with guage & with resetable/manual dial for 'max' pressure delivered. Helps therapists draw a line of measure for patient capacity, improvement, etc. Just google the tag info (manufacture) & see what comes up. As for sell price...? One issue is that (in Texas) a special license is required of those wishing to purchase 'medical' equipment. We have 'craig'slist' locally... put it out there & see what happens. Carlos
