Dear Baby Bear,

Actually that is not my problem, my problem is I dont know what will I do to start commission the volume tank, Actually we installed additinonal lock up valve on the plant which is the usv is alrieady running, but since we installed the lock up valve, we should installed also a volume tank, now the connection is like this, input of the tank connected to the air supply and to the signal of the valve, and the output of the tank is connected to the regulator, just additional of lock up valve, now i just want to ask how to test the circuit involving all this item.

Thanks and hope you understand me and to help me on this matter...

Hello jerk70424:

Can you send a note to me and just mention the tank, valve etc.

What exactly.......do you want to check?

Pressure in a tank? An external valve? The air line? And what kind of test or monitor equipment do you have and where in the system, this means what gauges etc?

first after adding the volume tank u should know what is the action u want from this volume tank

which mean what is the failure position for the valve u want by this volume tank then u can try it this the check for the volume tank and also verfiyfor your connections

I am very sure that you are using one double acting actuator. Volume tank is used for fail action (Fail to Open or Fail to Close) of control valve when losing of instrument air supply. So, you should commisionning volume tank to make sure that your control valve back to fail safe position as you designed.

First, fill up volume tank with instrument air.

Second, close instrument air supply valve, release all air in the supply tube then the valve should be back to fail safe position. If not, check your tubing connection betwwen volume tank, lock up and actuator.

good luck

Hello jerk70424:I am sorry but I cannot get a clear idea of your plan and what you have done and want to do.

1) what have you installed?

2)what is it used for?

3) you mention you want to install a 'volume tank'.

4) What do you mean by volume tank?

5) What will this volume tank do, or be used for.

6) By volume tank are you talking of a large metal tank to hold water or gas?

7) What is it made from, steel, plastic, fibreglass?

8)What is your job? What do you do. Are you self employed or employed by a company to take care of and build the project you are asking about?

A piping and instrumentation drawing would certainly help.
