I think you should try to find out more specific site for getting detail information for your request. There are a lot of web hosting services out of there in web. What is good for you needs depends upon what's kind of HTTP engine had been applying for your content php (Apache) or asp. How huge is presumed to be your content? Have you purchased domain name already? If have not -- try out to visit www.domain.com.

regards,

caramba

Dear Vikram,

Your question is really cool, I would rather request you to search on the website for webhosters and lookout for the features you need.

Also I request to "seek help when exhausted of all self help".

Thanking you,

Best Regards

You can log in Yahoo.com and there you will find where to host your web page, I did it and the cost is very low.

I have to assume you are going to generate the code and such to make the site.

The answer to your question is "it depends", The questions you need to ask should be based on what you expect the site to do for you. Lets say you are planning on having a social site and aren't too interested in the name of the site, you may want to go with one of the free hosts. Some are restrictive on perks, server side programming, Transfer limits, storage space etc. The good part is it gives you exposure to the mechanics of generating and publishing a site. Another advantage is you can start publishing almost immediately.

The other instance would be if you expected to generate some income from the site, then you should be concerned with how they handle shopping carts, pay pal, security , all the things that you have to do to handle money on line and secure your customers interests.

In all instances you need to know what site statistics are going to be made available to you. How comprehensive are they, do they tell what countries you are getting hits from, who is hitting your site, how many hits are the result of search engines, when is your site the busiest, what pages are getting hit and on and on.

If you are going to make advertising a paying part of your site you may want to talk to the advertising source to see if they have any preference for hosts.

You should look closely at the price and see what you can get for the cheapest dollar, look at transfer amount, storage, free domain name with the site etc. Just remember the plight of the astronaut that took off knowing full well that the rocket he was sitting on was made by the low bidder.

I personally have used a few different hosts and if I am serious about the site I use something like Ipowerweb. Although I can't gripe about the others. I guess it has something to do with the warm fuzzy feeling you are supposed to have when dealing with professionals.
