Hi Prof Dr

I agree that using renewable energy is the better thing to do and commit that whenever viable. BUT you must realize that in normal life outside of a lab people must actually pay for the energy , water , chemicals etc they consume and have to finance additional equipment. Sometimes getting out of existing contracts is not that easy.

SA is rather arid and to really produce bio material at a sustainable rate additional quotas of irrigation water must be obtained but the price of the water will exceed the value of the fuel that can be produced.

Could you supply us with cost analyses of hydrogen plants etc.

On Google earth I spotted some big irrigation project (160000ha - it looks like sequence on a fancy dress) in the desert of Saudi Arabia. I believe fossil water is pumped from a depth of 1200m. If you know about it can you please supply some info regarding crop, purpose, viability, sustainability etc).
