Hi partha - Patience man Patience. It is a bad time of year to expect fast answers. (Second post in 3 days)

A guest did reply with an answer.

Now what you should do is to inform us what your current knowledge is and what your position is. Also why do you need the info. (How would you feel if you are on an aeroplane and the pilot ask if anybody knows how what is the meaning of landing gear? )

Don't you have superiors who can explain it to you?

If you were thrown in at the deep end try the following:

Look on the breaker and find the manufacturer and/or model number. Then google for it or contact the supplier (look at the invoices in your stock records) and ask them for specs.

I understand you are an employee of NTPC. If you are at Noida office ask Vinayak Prasad or AGM they will help you. Ok?

Dear patnaik,

FPTCF is termed with TRV of CB pole during current interruption. In simple word it is rise of voltage with respect to time across breaker pole which open first. It may restrike arc & fail CB b,coz of high rise of voltage.

It is depend on Type of grounding & circuit, type of load ( cap., ind.) etc.

Regards,

VB mohite

first pole to clear factor:-all the three pole of (R Y B) CB is not simultaniously open or close...means there must be some error...like 2pole contact make first and then third one ok so at that time open pole is consider as a faulty pole and all the close pole is consider as a healthy pole so relation to find the first pole to clear factor is

=Rms value of voltage at healthy phase to faulty phase(phase to phase)/Rms value of voltage at healthy phase to nuetral(phase to neutral)

first pole to clear factor is not more than 1.9

e.x 1.3 , 1.5, 1.8, 1.9

in all over the world this factor is not more than 1.9
