Matcad DSP Code Generation

12/29/2008 1:43 PM

Dear contributors,

I am considering using Matcad and simulink to develop a electrical power converter and automatically generate the code for the processor (TI DSP).

I have a lot of experience doing similar product development by hand (Used Analog device and PSpice). I am now looking for a better way of simulating and documenting my work. Automatic code generation is certainly an appeal. Since I intend to change processor family, I might as well do things differently. I hope that this package will make it easier for others in the company to participate in my work and increase my productivity.

Has anyone had experience with these or other similar software? What kind of learning curve should I expect? Can I learn to use these system and complete a small project in a few months? Should I hire an consultant to help me kick-start this project?

Thank you for your suggestions.

I think there had been presumed Matlab instead Mathcad.

It is my dream as well to try out these developing tools for uC code generating. Unfortunately my former employer (University) had denied my request to purchase license for related Matlab tools (data acquisition, instrument control, etc).

I can only suppose that such well known brand as Mathwork is made its product quite good, so there shouldn't be an unresolved problems for R-time front-end code generating.
