SAE B Two-Bolt Pump Mounting Dimensions

01/06/2009 5:22 AM

Hi All

I have come across a slight dimensional problem with SAE 'B' two bolt pump mountings.

My understanding of the spigot dimensions is that:-

Spigot dia = 4.001" (for the hole that a pump is mounted in) so the pump spigot would be 101.6mm giving a clearance (just).

Spigot depth (now this is my issue) = 3/8" (9.525mm) but some pump manufactures have a spigot protrusion of 10mm !

All other dimensions are not an issue!

Does anyone have a definitive dimension traceable to the SAE? I can only find dimensions from manufactures (and I'm beginning not to trust them )!

If you're worried about 1/2 mm, you probably need to break down and buy the SAE standard. Sorry.

Hi Ried

I was hoping that someone might have access to the standard but.......I think your right, I'm going to have to put my hand in my sky rocket!

Thanks anyway!
