i need formula to calculate current of cable

Hello,

you can find in the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Current_density

Actually you can use I=j*C

Where:

I - current of cable (A)

j - Current Density of metal (A/mm2)

C - Square area of cable (mm2)

example: Cable 16mm2 cooper (j=2) => I= 2*16= 32A (max)

No need. Chose a cable size and look it up in a table.

you can see it directly from table.

Other wise if u know the power or voltage than u can calculate current by formula

I=v/r , p = I^2*r

r resistance , v = supply voltage , p = power

u can get r by ohmmeter , either u can calculate it by

r = rho *l/ a

l = length

a = area

rho = resistivity of material
