energy meter multiplying factor calculation

Dear CR4 user,

I have put energy meter make conzerv dm5240 having ct ration 5/5 and current transformer installed is 1200/5 pt ration for the meter is 0.415kv/415v

Can you tell me the multiplying factor of the energy meter.

Did you put a PT or only CT ?

the answer is simple isn't it ?

If only CT then the ratio is 1200/5 = 240

if PT also is there pl multiply the PT ratio to this ratio

The meter reads the energy as

VICosφ

Now the V is actually Vi / npt

And I is actually Ii / nct

So the energy read by the equipment is

E = ViIiCosΦ/ nptnct = Eact/ nptnct

This is assuming you do not have any internal ratio (as your mail shows)

in my bill meter multiplying factor is " (10*2)*.99 " what does it means?

Guest, Please clarify your details. Look at your question and correct the typing errors.

You have given us two CT ratios; do you have 5/5 and 1200/5 CT's?

your PT ratio, 0.415kV/415V (if this is not a typing error), is 1/1.

Information about the meter is also required, since that is involved in the multiplying factor.

Simply stated the METER MULTIPLYING FACTOR = (meter multiplier x CT ratio(s) x PT ratio).

The METER MULTIPLYING FACTOR is used to convert a displayed value to an actual value.
