We´ll I would suggest that the original poster does. Now instead of being a clown why don't you try to help. Typical response from a bitter individual.

Odd enough, why lurks in a hiding place? read carefully how Walts_Worker spoke. its wonderful.

haha, to be true. I really still keep 386 Hp computer shames somewhere in my box, as well as 286 cpu manual etc. they are not sold. I like to keep file antiques. I can find easliy 8086 in my bookshelf.

as pointed out by the front thread. 486, in fact, is 386+387 joint togeter. do you know? you seem out of the kowledge. now I teach you this. then you can brag or boast to others from now on. haha.

if somebody like this manual, pm, I can send them. no problem.

btw, I have also many mainboard diagrams. most of them I even bothered to open. if somebody really require, I can contribute.

I can tell you, the charge of repair such old circuit is more, more expensive than take in place by new one more power board.

remember it. not worthwhile.

Hi, ever considered an 486?

A80486DX2SA66 SX 911 is a static clock, dynamic bus sizing from 8 bits to 32 bits CPU and support an IEEE-754 compliant FPU in a 132 pins PGA that fit into easy to find socket.

Nicely documented at http://www.x86.org/intel.doc/486manuals.htm

Good luck, Jean.

Ever try looking at the Intel.com site? Searching for the 80386 or 80387?

Well, I did... You probably could have too...

http://download.intel.com/design/intarch/manuals/27248502.pdf

Page 6-39 shows it.

Although I believe it's not totally accurate since I seem to remember that it was more involved than they show there - especially with the READY# line...

It's not that 'they' or myself are bitter... It's that a simple search on the Intel.com site, just as I did and what they could have done... Especially since "they" have an internet connection...

It's more like that 'they' want the world handed to them, have everyone else do 'their' work for them... Sadly like many of the children of 'today' seem to be.

A simple search search on Intel's site could have resolved this... It took me about 20 minutes to find the actual page... Way much less time than it's taking for me to write this, or the time it's taken since the Op posted till my post.

There was usually a socket on the motherboard for the 80387. On the some mother boards their was either a jumper, switch or bios setting to enable the interface between the main processor and the math coprocessor.

Or its just a unmounted component that has many pads around the square package, as the PCB loader just didn't install it.
