Next Imaginary crisis???

01/19/2009 9:30 AM

Mondays suck, and according to some today is the worst Monday of the year, Blue Monday, typically the third Monday of January. So if you feel down, now you know.

Something to get you thinking and maybe have some fun with; What will be the nest Imaginary Crisis?

When I say Imaginary, I reference the current global warming, now climate change, and the trend for almost everything to be claiming to be 'Green". A few years ago everything had to be 'Organic' as in; organic chickens, organic tomatoes, organic... like the other products in the grocery store came from Mars or something.

So what will the next imaginary world crisis be?

Don't be shy, and have a great day, Blue Monday is only 24 hours long, and look at the bright side, Georgie B will soon be out of office. There goes that outloud voice again.

Down here in the states most are glad to see Georgiepoo go but are concerned about his replacement. Not only is he inexperienced and arrogant, but he is walking into a world of crap that GWB created for 8 years. I wish him luck and hope that he is more able than we expect him to be. He may be the orchestrator of our next crisis. And as you know, when the US is in crisis it affects the whole world indirectly.

Other than that we only have the alien hoards at the gates to contend with next, but if we continue to ruin the planet, as we are doing so well, even they will pass us by.

Have I droned on long enough? Will continue to monitor this thread, looks like it could get very interesting.

Obama must be one brave man to want to step into the sh!t storm created by the previous administration. For the conspiracy theory types global warming was aimed at distracting attention away from the economic crisis, oops didn't work, if you believe in that sort of thing.

Maybe if we get lucky someone will point out that the bean counters are the root of the problem, another fantasy...

I've been trying to keep this quiet to prevent a catastrophic global panic. But I think the time has come to alert the members of CR4 and the world to a crisis that currently we are utterly powerless to prevent. Not only that, the only detection methods our best scientists have contrived so far are huge and completely non-portable. All we know for certain is that we are constantly exposed - not only from the sky but also from the very earth beneath our feet.

This menace has a name. The neutrino.

Each day, every living thing on Earth is bombarded with these neutrinos. Some pelt us from the farthest reaches of outer space. Our own sun, giver of life and warmth and light produces them too. In it's current state our atmosphere is completely unable to protect us! Sadly, unlike with solar UV there is no SPF cream we can apply to ward off these cosmological bullets.

Neutrinos are also produced by nuclear (!!!) reactors and even the radioactive (!!!) elements present in our soil. Yes, the same soil that we grow crops in! That our children play on!

There is no shelter we can take. No refuge from this dreadful onslaught. Given enough time neutrinos can eventually permeate through hundreds of feet of the strongest steel - drilling through it like it wasn't even there.

Our only hope is more research. Out of concern for mother Earth I myself have founded an organization dedicated to find a solution to this global terror. But I need funding to continue the fight. Bumbling government bureaucrats are dragging their feet on providing that funding. That's why I need YOU.

Please give what you can as quickly as you can. Do it for the children.

Here's my contribution: a GA. Humor is the best way to deal with absurdity.

You want real absurdity? Previous posters bitching about GWB, whose blunders have come from an excess of liberalism, pinning their hopes on out and out socialism.

You've hit the nail on the head. I would send you a contribution but I am afraid to come out of my bunker ( here where the dastardly neutrino's can't get to me). I would tell you how I built it but then the neutrino lovers would tell them and they would find a way through my defences. Best of luck with the fight.

Well there is so much to choose from lets see:

Magnetic polar shift will destroy sattellite communications. World chaos ensues.

The impending yellowstone eruption

A big chunk of rock hitting the earth

Apparently the Myan callender says everything comes to an end in 2012, so your debate is rather pointless since everything will be over and done on Dec. 21st. I'm just going to buy everything that Billy Mays sells before its too late... oh and the sham wow even though Billy doesn't actually sell it.

The Sham Wow is a sham. I kept one handy in case I spilt my beer. I did! when I used it to pick it up all I heard was a loud belch and a sigh. Upon wringing it over my glass, nothing was released. This happened with my wine also. Now I find it sniffing around my bar at night. Someone should warn the world about this.

If you read the fine print on the back of the Sham Wow package, you'll find that it clearly states all Sham Wow Al-Anon costs are the sole responsibility of the owner.

A red flag if ever I saw one.

Not to worry. As we speak I'm sure there's a country somewhere just chock full of workers getting ready to immigrate illegally to the US and other countries for the opportunity of doing the grunt work pollinating crops.

Bah! Who needs a fancy-schmancy ecosystem!

How about in a few years the sun will enter an active phase and this time there will be a period of intense solar flare activity. The resultant radiation burst will fry the electronics on all satellites and most electronic computers, car ignition systems and electronic controls.

The resultant chaos will be horrendous.

Emergency funding is required to find ways of proofing the world against this impending crisis. It is not a question of "if" but "when".

The crisis period will start in 11 to 22 years time.

We must act now!

Send donations for a lobbying fund to my personal email. I promise to use them effectively for my benefit!

Remember the crisis of oil at $150 a barrel? Now that is over and so we have "the worst economic crisis since the great depression." Which will be over in a year or so, then there was the bird flu that was supposed to kill us all, but that seems to have gone away as well, but now we have a crisis of winter weather in the US.

I am thinking the next crisis would have to be the return of Brittney Spears to the pop charts...
