Some low cost USB computerised single speed turntables seem to come with only one stylus for playing old 33/45/78 rpm records. Then using software to replay at the correct speed.
Whilst it is easy to understand how software can play back at the correct speed - it is hard to understand how the same stylus can properly pickup from totally different track profiles, particularly when at least two other records must be running at the 'wrong' speed.
For example, will a stylus suitable or a micro-groove record running at 33 rpm properly play a 78 rpm also running at 33 rpm ????'
I ask because the cartridge/stylus was a big issue with my old fashioned turntable. I had to use one to suit the speed and type of record.
