Type 7 Application Conduit and Connection Requirements

01/22/2009 9:32 AM

Does anyone have any experience with Type 7 applications in regard to conduit and conduit connection requirements for Class 1, Divsion 2, Group A,B,C, and D. Specfically, is rigid conduit required or is flexable conduit acceptable. The application involves wiring the Type 7 control panel to a TEFC motor, and external type 7 switches.

Thanks for your input.

I believe what you are after is NEMA 7, not Type 7. This applies to the enclosures used in your classified area. Article 500 in the NEC give a lot more info than I can provide here for classified locations, and if you google NEMA 7, I think you'll find better definitions than what I can provide here.
