Electrosatic Painting

01/27/2009 4:37 AM

Dear friends,

We need to paint various parts according to MIL-P-53022, MIL-P-53030, MIL-P-23377 (epoxy or epoxy-polyamide for priming) and according to MIL-C-22750, MIL-C-46168, MIL-C-53039 (epoxy or aliphatic polyurethane for coating).

Can we use an electrostatic air spray gun (e.g. Graco Pro XS 4)? Is it optimal? What about Wagner electrostatic spray gun GM2800 EA with VM2000?

Where can I get data of electrical resistance of liquid paints?

Many thanks,

Efim.

Contact the manufacturer of the specific paint used for their specs. They vary based on the specific solids and composition of the paint. Most manufacturers of commercial/ industrial paints have a line they will recommend for electrostatic application.
