Asian Equiavlent to McMaster-Carr?

01/29/2009 11:55 AM

McMaster-Carr has decided not to accept new customers in Asia for the time being. Does anyone have a source in ASia that would be equivalent to McMaster-Carr or Grainger? These are supply houses for everything from engineering materials, tools, cleaning supplies, polymer rods and shapes, solvents, paints and so on. My current McMaster-Carr catalog is 3,664 pages long, and Grainger catalog is 4,070 pages. Many thanks!

Boy howdy I'd like to know this as well!

In our (admittedly limited) experience in Asia is that you can't ever seem to get exactly the same item from a given supplier twice.

Just from a sourcing point of view though, have you ever tried

It's not the equivalent of McMaster-Carr but RS Components is a good source. You can visit them at

MCS ships international. They are as big as McMaster Carr. http://www1.mscdirect.com/

You may order online or get the catalog. They also offer a CD which makes more sense for off shore.
