can any body elaborate that from which materials lagging is made ? how can we ensure that new lagging placed on diesel engine give minimum smoke ? is there a possibility that old lagging also gives smoke ? help and time is appreciated

give minimum smoke ? How can lagging give smoke unless you have used very low density fibre glass wool (12 kg/m3 & 120C). If it is smoking, its is burning!

Refer the recommendation of the diesel engine supplier on the recommended density and temperature of the insulation material Fibre glass/ Rock wool/ Ceremic Wool.
