What os are you using? Computer? Original audio device or after market sound card? Have you added a video card recently, or any other hardware or software? Does it happen intermittently, or everytime you use your computer? Does it happen after you run a certain program, or go into sleep mode?

I assume your OS is WinXP and you're using Win Media Player. when the error message comes up, take note of it and go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/234019 and look for the answer there.

Chances are that your audio driver or player needs an update.
