The current carrying capacity of cable is available BS 6346/ IS 1554 or you can get it in any electrical engineer's hand book. You can also get it from any of the cable manufacturer.

Hello V.I.Abraham:

From the look of it this site may furnish you with the detail you ask.

Appendix 4 of BS 7671 - Voltimum UK - Electrical Installation Products ... Appendix 4, Current-carrying capacity and voltage drop for cables and flexible cords, has seen significant changes with the publishing of BS 7671:2008. This article ...

Hi all,

It really grates me when people do not read further in the forum - how many times is this question going to be asked and in how many different variations?

Go to aberdare cables - download the cable facts & figures handbook - it is for free. Beware - those codes apply to South Africa and the factors will be different in other parts of the world. The SANS codes are the equivalent of the IEC codes as far as I know though.

Regards

Craig

Hello pokalasrao:

This address will tell you all you need to know. From ground laid cables to cables installed in air. Your country Bulgaria, is covered by the rules of the EU.

I tried to help but it seems it was insufficient. So as Craigza has said this site has details on every kind of cable including several armoured cables. BTW, if you search use 'armored' as the filter. 'Armoured' is the English spelling but the response is aimed at the US, hence the spelling.

There is lots of different pages on this site. You should find what you want in this page, or links from it to other parts of the Aberdare site.

Good luck and take care....................

Hello Guest,

Why do you not sign in? It is a great place!

As craigza said, Aberdare is brilliant. Even explaining how to dig and prepare the trench to put a ground laid cable in.

Good luck and keep in touch.............

Take care................

Did the Lecturer in Electrical Engineering not provide pointers? Get a refund on the course fees!
