Sourcing a 12-VDC Gearmotor

Hi folks,

I am having a difficult time finding the correct motor for a niche-market product I have in the design phase. I realize I could have these made to order by offshore manufacturers but at present my maximum order will be in the 50 - 100 range, instead of the 1000+ minimum quantities needed from Pacific Rim factories. With that said-any help in finding a source would be greatly appreciated.

Specs:

12V DC motor or gearmotor (preferred)

approx 1 amp no load

3K-6K RPM

max diameter = 1.55 inches

Stainless steel shaft.

Shaft:can be 3/16", 6mm or .250" .THIS is the hard-to-find feature: must be 3"-3.5" long smooth shaft...no keyway

Cost is important. <50 USD

Any help would be appreciated.

Bill, I have a friend who works at Applied Industrial Technologies who sells bearings and motors. I met him through my business infrared imaging. If you want I can put you in contact with him, if he can't help he might be able to steer you in the right direction.

Have you tried Bodine? They provided all the geared motors I used.
