Hi Guest,

1. Please check up your winding wire it may be spurious quality.

2. The coil winding machine may be faulty, in the sense it may be

getting jammed and giving too much dragging force on winding wire.

3. The insulating paper used may be of inferior quality or aged.

4. The poor workman ship in coil assembly or use of improper /

damaged tools.

Is there a failure pattern? Does it occur in the same area? How are the failures alike? How are they different? Answer these questions and then investigate those answers very closely.

I find it very disturbing that someone who is supposedly in the business of manufacturing motors, is having a failure issue and posts anonymously on a free internet forum to get advise as to what to do.

That scares me to death...

Your response is, by far, the most astute.

It is scary sometimes.

Hi JReaf,

You are absolutely correct in getting scared by the way the thread is posted. The poor fellow might be in trouble for the rejection and may be accountable with out authority as happens in many companies( may be even in the verge of loosing his job) and may be clueless as how to come out with some solution. I assume that he thought he may get some free advice with out giving his own and his company's identity, he is trying to get some help. Let us pardon him.

Not from here. After all, Anonymous Poster is the only one who can see the problem.

Among the possibilities are:

  • Dirt ingress
  • Liquid ingress
  • Mechanical abrasion
  • Mechanical overload
  • Damage to the casing
  • Over-voltage
  • Something else.
