I want to access ( read / write) parallel port in connection with my academic project. Help is needed for software selection / programming. Can anyone help me ?
Parallel port of what?
A PC or a microcontroller port?
Access it with what? A PC, a microcontroller? We need more information if we are to help.
Here's a picture of a CD drive which I accessed with a bow pistol

When you do not know what the OP is accessing from, and/or accessing to...........how can you say they need more RAM? Doesn't make sense mate.
Sorry..............
Take care...................

Your request leaves so much open that what I might say, might be completely off base, but for a CNC machine, a sourceforge program called EMC2 which runs under Linux (unbuntu), via a parallel printer port on a PC.
If you need further details, just ask.
