What are you detering it from? Eating your kitty? Where is Del when you need him...

A coyote is basically a dog, so stuff that works with dogs should work with. Electric wires, ammonia in the trash cans. Basic repellent forulations that you can buy for dogs should work on coyotes as well.

Rock salt instead of lead.

A dead coyote-seriously.

Hang it on a fence where you don't want them. They are almost impossible to deal with, but they will heed the warning(for awhile). Smart animals!

A friend of mine raises sheep and donkeys. The donkeys are great coyote deterrents, according to him.

Want a donkey? I know where you can buy one.

Better yet - several big dogs.

Breed matters, check with a vet or an experienced australian.

I'm not Austrailian but the local sheep farmers here use Great Pyrenees and Llamas as Edignan pointed out. A Hundred and fifty pound dog isn't very practical though.

I'm afraid that might cause things to escalate So far the coyotes are not using dynamite. If we bring roadrunners, a sales rep from ACME will surely follow?
