I have been given an assignment for conducting a detailed Electrical Safety Audit of a chemical plant. Request to suggest available web-links to access the information - check list items, methodology, report preparation etc.

How do you propose to inspect that which you know nothing about? A few minutes reading on the Net will not qualify you, and will endanger many other lives and subject you and your company to criminal and civil liability. Would you try to deactivate a bomb using info from Google? My advice is to hire a qualified inspector, or advise everyone within 5 mile radius of the plant to evacuate. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.Better safe than sorry.

Yes and I agree with the idea of a Qualified Inspector, but we are slowly seeing the demise of Quality with all of the touchy-feely concepts of the moment.

You know, the ones management talks up, but never allows past the shop floor and the accounts scream over because Quality and Inspection by Independent Inspectors is not a Revenue Stream.

Sorta like hiring the greeter or bagger at wallyworld to inspect your facility for electrical and mechanical integrity.

Another thing, let us try and keep politics off of the page, 1) We are a world wide forum; 2) We are diverse; and 3) I think we are much to professional here to do that.
