The videos you are looking at is actually downloaded and saved in a temporary directory on your HD. This is done to enable looking at the video at normal speed on a slow link.

The copy of information is kept for a predefined time and then deleted.

To get access to the video at a later stage you will find it, rename (sometimes) , and copy or move it to a safe destination.

For finding it you should look at your temporary file settings.

you must then find the appropriate file. The extension might be be intact but sometimes it may have been changed. I have found that a extension of .128 can be changed to .FLV.

The location can be changed under settings but I think the default XP setting is:-

C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Localsettings\TemporaryInternetfiles/content.IEv\<random>

I use a console mode dos like program (in Delphi 6) to get to the files.

Watch out virusus also hide there.!!!

there are so much free stuff out there that you can use.

but first, try right clicking on the video itself. if it is mpg, it can be saved directly from the right-click option.

for other formats, try any of the following:

http://www.download.com/Free-Video-Downloader/3000-2071_4-10742639.html

http://www.sothinkmedia.com/web-video-downloader-firefox/

Firefox also has a plug-in that will enable you to download certain videos.

My favorite is RealPlayer. Install it, and configure it, such that just a simple mouseover on the video will cause a prompt to appear that will enable you to download that movie. Very neat!

Why opt for other video down-loader when O/S has integral software to accomplish same?

This was going to be my answer:

"My favorite is RealPlayer. Install it, and configure it, such that just a simple mouseover on the video will cause a prompt to appear that will enable you to download that movie. Very neat!"

But you beat me too it and it is just the easiest way going, so I gave you a thumbs up.

Use Firefox. Go to Manage Addons. Search for Addons and type DowloadHelper.

Its a cool little progam for saving streaming video. Alot easier than digging through windows.

How about copying the web address to WORD. You will only loose it if the video (address) is no longer available.
