Why not ? what are the cordless phones ? But if you are talking about long distance- then you have to take permission (in most of the parts of wols) and can only work in a limited frequency band.

You should Google this. People have been building their own receivers and transmitters for almost 100 years. Try "ham radio" as a search term.

Yes ..it's how a most RF engineers became RF engineers and many electronics guys started that way...

Way back in the 60s-80s there were plenty of hoby electronics magazines.
It was mostly discrete components then. As ICs have got bigger and more specialised it has become less accessible to the amateur.
Personally I started by building audio equipment which oscillated.(I hate RF...eugh)

Yes.

Try Wikipedia for the description of a "crystal set" - an unpowered AM receiver that can be built using less than £5GBP of over-the-counter components.

Transmitters are a bit more ticky, and the operator needs to be licenced in most countries. Try the Radio Society of Great Britain for outline information on the hobby of amateur radio.

Thanx to everyone that have help me with all the texts.......But I have one problem,I live in Namibia and to find all the parts that is needed is very difficult to find.like some pic that I had a look at on GOOGEL of the "HAM RADIO " the CHEAPES FOR WHAT i CAN FIND IT IS FOR N$6000.00.So for me to build a crystal radio or a ham radio Will cost me more than what i can buy he complete thing in a shop.....AND most of the things needed in the crystal radio,the people simply don't know/haven even heard about the things.so pleas can some one help mee with a way to build the receiver with thins not so hi tech for the companys in africa.....
