Your best source would be your local National Electrical Code book. CEC in Canada or the NEC in the US. It will list different types of cables and their max allowed current in different temperature ambients. The other consideration is the Cable-Fill allowed in a conduit. Assuming you need to run multiple conductors in a conduit or a cable tray, there are rules about how many you can use.

Not again

Craigza has at least replied on the same subject at least twice recently.

Hey Craig- scope for another GA for you (I won't steal your patent so you reply to it)

British Standard 7671 again.

Hey! How about a CR4 section for cable sizing and explaining power factor correction?

My My My - Whay do we have a forum?

If you do not know this you should not be messing around with it.

But please feel free to go to aberdare cables and download their cable sizing booklet. Take note that these standards apply to South Africa and may not apply to your country! (but why should this bother you?)

Secondly - Why bother as you probably would not understand the reasoning behind the calculations.

Thirdly - I thought this type of thing was taught in first year?

Fourthly ...... Search the forum - this has been answered so many times before and in such great detail.

Fifthly - is there no way to put an automatic block on this type of question. Where, if posted the persons computer blows up in their face?

Regards,

Craig

LOL - it is just too much. We really should block this type of nonsense. If they are too lazy to look through the forum - then we should be too lazy to reply.

Cheers
