"Total Dissolved Solids"

Isn't that an oxymoron?

That will depend on the treatment process, obviously. Adding sodium hydroxide to neutralize nitric acid will result in a higher TDS level since both sodium and nitrates are highly soluble. Adding lime to heutralize hydrofluoric acid will result in a greatly reduced TDS level since calcium fluoride is almost completely insoluble in water.

Stuff-all, Mate. Wastewater processing is about getting the stinkies out and reducing the solids content until it's fit to go in the river. It's screens, bugs and aeration all the way. <Sneeze, wheeze>.

Anyone got a light? <Cough>
