24" ESD Valve and Painting

03/16/2009 2:27 PM

Hi,

I am performing a review of a 24" ESD Valve that will be instaled offshore.

The manufacturer has an Electroless Nickel Plating Thickness of0.003".

Do I need to recommand a Painting and Coating Spec?

Is EN enough for the protection of ESD in Marine environment?

Regards

Dejan

What's the industry? Oil?

What's the specification? If you don't have one, stop!

"Do I need to recommand a Painting and Coating Spec"?

If you are the specifying engineer, yes. If you are reviewing the documents, no.

Is this your first," 24" ESD Valve that will be instaled offshore"?

Good Luck!
