Most companies will have a procedure for doing this as part of planned preventative maintenance ("PPM"). Talk to the Instrument Workshop Supervisor in the first instance.

For seat leakage test in control valve use ANSI/FCI Standard 70-2, rev 2006.

In this standard you will find detailed test conditions including recommended pressure drop, temperature, test medium and allowable leakage.

Control valve leakage classification shall be stated in the Spec Sheet, according to control valve type and application.

IEC has also published a similar standard for seat leakage test, IEC 60534-4-4.

Normally you can use for leak test the same pressure used during the comissioning leak test. Diferents internal (Company) procedures ask for no more than 5barg. ADOLFO

Sorry for the late reply.

Right now where using the same leakage test (same pressure) use in commissioning but I am sure if I'm during the right procedure. I am interested in both leakage tests for valve seat leakage or leakage thru the stem of the valve.

Can someone provide me the exact procedure right now I don't have any copy of the standards you have mentioned. Thanks for all your reply.
