there are two ways for lightning protection of outdoor switchyard. !. By spike, 2. By earth wire. It may be a combination of both. First you have to calculate the ' need for protection'. IS 2309 gives the calculation. Next you have to draw the protection coverage circle diagram. Equipments falling under the circle in plan view is protected. Then you have to check the elevation of equipments if any part is remained un protected. IS is quite helpful.

Ignoring the design, the station class surge arrestors you need are specialised devices. You will need to get in contact with the manufacturers of these products to find a solution suitable for your specific switchyard application (especially if you are not sure on how to design a lightning protection system). This is not something that can be answered on a forum such as CR4.

The companies that can help you are - Cooper power systems, ABB, Siemens. There are others too, but these are the main three that come to mind.

Simple. As the <...we...> is asking for help, it can engage specialists locally to design and install a suitable system.

The method of protection and the installation deployed needs to reflect the <...Lightning...> frequency at the location of the installation, which has been withheld from the forum. There are standards to deploy for this sort of thing. Which one to use depends upon the location.

An internet search will reveal names and contact details of organisations that can help. The rest starts with a few telephone calls.
