My speculation is that the word cold might be "cola"; Coca cola is pH 2.3 as I recall. Can i use gastric fluid to remove rust off bumpers too?

Ahh, hot drinks burn the throat (its not pleasant). Cold drinks are pleasant to drink (less harmful to the body, depending on what's in them of course). Also, the drink's PH depends on what's in it.
I must be missing something here, because it seems I have answered the posters question.
According to urban legend, if one runs out of soldering flux suddenly, a small quantity of cola (brand name withheld) can be used as a substitute. It's full of phosphoric acid (yuk!), which will clean-up lightly oxidised copper and brass surfaces wonderfully.
Ever tried dropping a bronze coin into the stuff?

I must say the urban legends around here don't involve solderingflux shortages.
I much prefer your urban legends to ours.
Ours generally startout end up with "pop a cap in you X$$"
