Another incomplete information thread (mostly from India).

You need to specify so many things to get the help from engineers from CR4.

What size, how much expansion, what service liquid, what application ?????

dear mr suhas

we cr4 members are all decent people. please do not pass comments like 'mostly from india'. we should learn something from the reply of Mr Abdel of egypt. always he is there with handsfull of information. I am amazed with his energy level. cr4 forum should feel proud of having a member like him. let us make cr4 better.

Dear Mr. ducon,

Thanks for passing a good comment on Mr.ABDEL HALIM GALALA.

May I have a suggestion to you.?

Instead of expressing "though till date i was the only guy who idolized you but now i've a lot of competitors",

I feel you can post, "ALL THESE DAYS I WAS THE LONE BIRD WITH JEALOUS, NOW I FIND LOT OF BIRD FLOCKS AROUND ME WITH JEASLOUS"

My Professor advised us, when we departed from our college " FROM THIS COLLEGE YOU HAVE TAKEN MUCH KNOWLEDGE AND MOULDED YOURSELF AS ENGINEER AND THIS COLLEGE IS OWNED BY THE SOCIETY. YOU MUST CONTRIBUTE MUCH MORE TO THE SOCIETY THAN WHAT YOU HAVE TAKEN."

Mr.ABDEL HALIM GALALA CONTRIBUTES/RETURNS MUCH MUCH MORE TO THE SOCIETY, in General, and FELLOW ENGINEERS in PARTICULAR THAN WHAT HE HAS TAKEN FROM THE SOCIETY - TRUE FOLLOWER OF MY PROFESSOR - distance is not the criterion, FROM HIS PLACE TO MY COLLEGE.

I am not sure whether you approve my view.

Abdel you are one of the finest and I follow you like my mentor. I have learned a lot from you and i pray for your long life to show light in the engineering-darkness for generation to me.

(Oh! by the way you see me less here because I am mostly on Linkedin and if you go through there various Groups you will find me practically on all).

Hello

You know, I am also from India. Seems you are also from India.

I always feel very bad to see such half heartedly generated threads. Also I see majority of those are from India, for which I feel ashamed. Am I wrong in identifying thread generator "from India"?

Why we, all from India, not do our homework, and post a good thread, with complete relevent information?

I do respect Mr. Abdel, and many other members of CR4, who give very good support and answers on forum, but the originator should give full information about his problem to enable CR4 members to give pin pointed answers.

Besides, you are also not subscribing your own views, thats why probably, you are hiding your identity. Come openly and please do not hide yourself behind name "guest".

Don't take it to the heart and there is nothing wrong done by them for you to be ashamed. What i get the picture is, that these are fresh college kids who from word of mouth spread the CR4 sites as a very helping sites where anyone can ask any question and be answered. So when threads like this come, it may make us but these poor guys for a start, do need to write something! so they do it. With experience they then learn how to ask intelligent question and it is when they decide to register.I believe some of them are gurus today.

I agree with you ducon. But I wonder, why majority are from my country. Why others from other countries do not need to write something?

I also respect Mr. Abdel, I would be very happy to meet him, if I get a chance.

Mr. Abdel: Please do let me come, if you plan any visit to India. I would certainly see you. Chances of my coming to your country are NIL.

maybe because your(india) & mine (Pakistan) are developing Countries where merits do not stand any chance in a better job oppurtunity so, guys from our type of countries tries best to seek as much knowledge as they can get and when they are really good enough they are fed up of the " shitty" system of our countries and get appointed in USA/Canada/Uk/Germany/australia. Uncountable Indians are in very very high posts abroad.

Re: Selecting Supports and Expansion Joints

Since enough is written about this thread let me make it easy for you.

Get a hold of the installation sheet of any expansion bellow/joint of any manufacturer and you will see the sketch where the show you spacing before & after the bellow/joint as "guiders" and "Fixed point". They then will give you a calculation formula to calculate the spacing (supports) of these guiders & fixed points based on the size of the bellow/joint you will use. Work on this and you will easy detiremine the supports. For materials of support you yourself need to deside if you want to use channel/angle/flat iron. once you decide this you can easy calulate the length you need to fabricate all the supports. If you still need help just call the sales engineer of the bellow/.joint supplier and ask him to teach you this calculation and selection of bellows/joints. To sell he will be most willing to help you out.
