Vertical or horizontal? Either way these will do the job, but each manufacturer is different. Check with the manufacturer to see if their machine is capable of your specs. I'm sure they will give you the details required. Too many variables such as loading type, time. chemicals, water etc. etc.etc.

Good luck

High Pressure High Temperature[HTHP] machines call for spool/cheese wound packages for good dyeing results.

You can dye viscose yarn convenintly ,after rewinding on to cheese from hanks.

The other option is to go for fibre dyeing option in HPHT[if the machine is suitable] and go for yarn spinning.

The other option for viscose hank dyeing is to go for tank dyeing manually or sort to cabinet dyeing machine ,whichever is viable for you.

Then comes the choice on class of dyes like Direct/reactives/sulphur/vat etc.

You may decide on your options feasible at your end.

Well, that makes everything clear! Personally, I like Havarti with Provolone a close second.

Seriously, there are several different types of dye. They can be differentiated by how they interact with the substrate.

Going back over my college organic chemistry notebook, we did studies on 6 different types of dyes. When I say types, I mean how they work. We did experiments on:

  1. Direct dyes
  2. Vat dyes
  3. Diazo dyes
  4. Ingrain dyes
  5. Azo dyes
  6. Disperse dyes

On the following substrates:

  1. Wool
  2. Orlon
  3. Dacron
  4. Nylon
  5. Cotton
  6. Acetate

With acetates, the following are the dyeing results:

  1. Picric acid (direct) - vivid sunshine yellow color
  2. Indigo (vat) - strong "denim" color
  3. Congo red (diazo) - very weak dye effect
  4. Para red (ingrain) - vivid orange color, but wool was better with a nice deep red
  5. Para red (azo) - vivid tangerine color; more vivid than all the other substrates
  6. Para red (disperse) - darker orange than the Para red (azo), but the brighest color of the 6 substrates using this dye and method.

I would talk to some textile people to find out who really knows about dyeing acetates. With luck, you will find some old guru that can provide a wealth of information.

Google is good too.

Mike

One other option is possible. This arrangement calls for a new material holder inside your HPHT dyeing machine.

You have to replace the cheese holder unit, install a fibre process perforated drum, fittable to liquor circulation line.

Like fibre dyeing, you can pack viscose hanks into the housing and proceed for hank dyeing. Handle wet viscose material with care.
